HP Elitebook X360 1030 G3 BIOS and EC unlock request

Can you remove the bios password on this HP X360 1030 G3, please? This bios looks different than on some older Elitebooks, so I can't do the unlock on my own. There are two dumps attached. 256Mb BIOS dump and 128Mb EC dump. I noticed the EC file contains some password hash information so I suppose it might need unlocking as well.

Same as previous (newer) models.

Thanks for the upload. My tool was unable to unlock this so I did it manually. Now I know what needs fixing in my tool.

If the bios chip is WSON8, flat with no legs then you`ll need an adapter as well, or alternatively you can solder wires to the gold pads.If the chip is SOP8 (with legs) you can use a SOP8 clip - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...63&postcount=4

The supplied CH341A software is poor, it might not have support for the chip.Alternative software is available, NeoProgrammer ,AsProgrammer,Colibri and flashrom.

Peste the programmer you suggested does not support this chip.
It's WSON8 8x6 as SMDFlea says. To be specific it's MX25L25673GZ4I-08G.
From all of the programmers I have got, only two support that chip.
First is TL866II but it only supports one in SOIC8/16 casing and when I connect it trough the adapter it will always show that 5th pin has got bad connection( and it's properly soldered). The second one I have is DATAMAN 48Pro2 https://www.dataman.com/programmers/...rogrammer.html

Before I buy it I was hoping for less costly solution ;-)

Hi,

I'm sorry but i need your help please.
I have an HP Elitebook X360 1030 G3 with BIOS password (I bought it like this).
I have a Raspberry Pi 4 and i don't know what to buy for dump BIOS (chip clip), knowing that i don't have the material for desolder.
I believe that i have a WSON8 chip (see attached picture).
As you can see, there are two Chips, which one should be flashed ?

at post # 14 you have everything you need to unlock the bios yourself .. use that program ... don't forget to make a copy of the original bios before writing the bios chip ..

After some research I guess I have to flash the 256Mb BIOS chip, should be the MX25L25673G. So I am new in this field, I have to buy some hardware to flash.
I guess the cheapest way to start is to buy the CH341A set:

But unforutnately the MX25L25673G is not in the supported chips list. So does it mean that I can't read/flash the chip with CH341A or does it just mean, that I need another software to read/flash?
