Hello everyone. I will need your help please. I tried everything to unlock my L560 but the patched bios file will not work for me. The patching process was successfull but I only get a black screen and no fan noise after writing the patched file. After I write back the original bios file everything works fine - but with my bios password set.

Can anyone try to patch my original bios file correctly that you can find attached?

Thanks a lot for your help!

write this file and follow steps described in autopatcher:

[ HOW TO USE THE PATCH ]
STEP 1: Flash and replace current BIOS with the generated patch file
                  STEP 2: Boot the machine
STEP 3: Press ENTER/F1/etc. to enter BIOS settings
STEP 4: Enter any character when asked for Supervisor Password
STEP 5: Press enter when it shows Hardware ID
STEP 6: Press space bar 2x when asked
                  STEP 7: Turn off machine
                  STEP 8: Restore original BIOS
STEP 9: Reset BIOS settings to factory default

                  [ NOTES ]
When booting the patched BIOS you might have to:
                  - Hold the anti-tamper switch down the whole time (use tape)
                  - Remove the hard disk or replace it with a locked one

Thanks a lot - but what is the anti-tamper switch? Is it something I need to do if I am not want to put on the backcover?

                        yes
Sadly it is like before. The screen is black and nothing happened. I dont know whats the problem

Did I have to write back the original bios and start the system before I write back a patched one?

let it run for 2 mins, it will restart few times with no image, just wait

Sorry for my late reply. I let it run for more than 10 minutes but the screen keeps black and no restart so far. I tried with power supply and also with battery.

It is so strange. It is not the first time that I managed to unlock a L560. Maybe my bios dump is corrupt? Or can it be something else?

you said that if you put back original backup it works. Only thing to do is to clean ME

Thats right. But after I write back the original dump, the bios password is still there.

i dont know how to clean ME. Do you have a tutorial?

i will give it another try tomorrow.
