Hi! As the title explains, a Dell E6230 I have at home is not booting. I wanted to fix it, as it's holiday right now and I don't have something to do in this time.
The problem is:
This laptop won't boot unless I remove the CMOS battery and wait for 5 minutes. Then, it boots up normally with a warning ("Date and Time not set, that's normal.."). As soon as it's starting, it works normally without any problems. I flashed the BIOS using a dump here on Badcaps, as the BIOS was corrupt, too. When I try to update the BIOS from Windows/DOS, it prepares the update, then just restarts and boots straight into Windows without even trying to install the BIOS update.. something wrong with the ME region of the BIOS? Or am I wrong?
I'd be thankful if someone would try to help.
