A couple of these L390 are failing to retain any changed BIOS settings 90% of the time. It also hangs for a moment when i switch through the BIOS menu tabs.

I have reset the BIOS to defaults, pulled the CMOS battery and updated to latest Lenovo BIOS, but if I e.g. change boot mode or try to set a new supervisor password, most of the time it reverts back to previous settings.

Has anyone seen this issue before, any suggestions please?

Seems to be fixed by re-adding a supervisor password, save and reboot, then it keeps any changed settings.

Hello colleagues. I made two ThinkPad T13 autopathchers - everything was nice. Unfortunately, the L390 is not anymore. After processing the file, I can only hear one sound and a black screen. Could someone help me? Thank you in advance.

BIOS from autopatcher doesn't work - black screen with beeps.

Tried once again (after reflashing original dump, booting, reading it again and patching again). Still the same issue.

Autopatcher does not reset NVRAM (it can't find the volume), maybe this is an issue?

Anyway, I thought this whole thread exists because autopatcher doesn't work...

Please help. I got the Lenovo Thinkpad L390 (20NR0013UK) and bios is locked with supervisor password
I have downloaded Python and tried running the autopatcher cmd but all that happens is that a cmd window opens for a few seconds and then dissapears.
Am i doing something incorrect? Please help

Hi, can you help me? I have a 20NS-S2U813 with supervisor password, can I dump and flash the bios with Windows? And if not, what is the bios chip? I have a RT809F programmer with clip, if needed. Thank you.

You can use a known working L390 patched BIOS file, but before doing so, make sure that you have a good backup of your BIOS, as you will use this Original BIOS at the last step of the unlock procedure.

Ah yes, good thinking - will do that tomorrow. I am curious how the good patch file has been created though - could @dycc or anyone share?
