Schematic required for Acer Predator Triton 300 G53G LA-L191P

I can't find one for the life of me! Does anyone out there feel kind enough to share one with me? I thought it was the VRM for the GPU that had failed (showing 0.1-0.2ohms) however i fear its the GPU, which i'd like to find out without removing all caps and other components on the power rails!

    Kindest regards,
    Lee/Husky

2.2. Don't suspect that something is shorted with no reason
Shorted components are not the only failure mode of a laptop. Additionally, some places will measure low resistance to ground under normal operation. In general, high power low voltage (<2V) power rails will measure less than a few hundred ohms to ground. CPU VCore will measure a few ohms only. GPU VCore with newer NVidia GPU can even measure less than 1 ohm. It's normal. If you suspect a short to ground, always report your exact resistance to ground measurements.

Holy heck that was fast! Thank you everyone! The only reason i suspect the VRMs is everything else measures normal and the resistance was literally so close to zero even my old school Fluke that can measure lower was like "yeah that's a wire" lol

It did however show around 0.2 across the rail caps.. Once i've removed the old VRM modules it is actually now around 0.6-0.8, so did change. Don't think there are any dead caps but its been dead a month so far... Good to know insanely low resistance on newer GPUs is often very normal though, which wasn't the case for the RTX cards i saw KrisFix sort out but..hmm.. Off the top of memory i'm fairly sure the RAM rails measured about 24 ohms and the CPU was.. closer to 40 i want to say. Seems normal right? The "hot spot" that kept hitting over 105C was most likely the VRMs it would seem, i just hope the GPU isn't also dead.. Unless i can actually get an RTX 3070M chip without buying another dead board that has a fried CPU or something?

And don't worry, i know just a re-flow doesn't permanently fix most problems, but re-balling by hand with no stencil or proper holder or anything is...ugh. Took me hoursss.. I think i lost some of my sanity re-balling an old Xbox 360 Xenon (for a laugh - still works now though!) xD and i didn't have the original DVD drive so i totally didn't RGH.

Do those resistances sound normal? Also, does anyone happen to have the BoardView file for it? A lot to ask i know, i just hope i can fix it as it was second hand, seller lied to me and i really can't afford to buy a new one.. Can't find a board cheap either, one i found with a dead CPU was £120!

Have you measured the inductors with the inductors off?

No i haven't my friend.. At this point I've already taken enough off the board, kind of trying to avoid pulling off a bunch of components just to test them, they could be at fault, but from what was happening to the laptop before it completely died (insane hotspot VRM temp) I'd be rather surprised if the inductors had failed! There is continuity but it's starting to seem like right to repair is rather pointless and devices are designed more and more to not even be serviceable by full blown repair centers and even the manufacturers' own labs! What sort of reading would i be looking for? I do have some hot tweezers now so i could actually pull them off, still no pre heater so things are painfully slow.. Obviously i don't even have the money to replace the board with a working one and can't really afford the loss of it being dead all together/selling the rest for spares! Any help would be more than appreciated, I don't even have a decent bench supply that can easily go down to a volt, the pot isn't very sensitive and its an old school linear unit (though it can go up to 16.4V at 20A constant, 25A for half an hour and 30A for a few seconds of burst then let it rest for 30 seconds lol) with no current control at all, just limiting via short detection.. That does work quite well at least.

The coils are removed to find out the source of the low resistance.

Graphics card repair technicians will often not even bother measuring resistance to ground on GPU VCore as it rarely provides useful information with newer GPU, and it's extremely rare that that would be the (only) problem on a modern graphics card. Shorted high-side MOSFET or short to ground on another power rail (such as the VRAM power rail or the GPU PCIe interface power rail) would be much more common.
But again, not everything is a short. We don't even know what the symptoms are here.
Anyway diagnostics and troubleshooting should not be done in the schematics request thread, open another one in the appropriate section.

Thanks again so much Al! Almost everything i need now.. Guess I'd better open another thread just to write the symptoms! I'm not quite as much of a noob as some seem to think, just hate the way how difficult and obfuscated they make board level repairs these days!
