replace primary capacitor in antec psu

1 of the 2 panasonic primary caps in one of my antec power supplies is a tiny bit bloted. the only other caps i have are 200v 470uf (2 of each). 1 pair is canicon and one pair is k-eagle.
    are these suitable replacemtns?

busted panny primaries? They must be getting overheated. I wouldn't use those caps as replacments. the capacitance is too low. You will need to cool it better or any replacment cap will fail, even a Rubycon.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Sometimes the big caps are not really bulged, only the plastic cover. Try to press it with your finger.

My brother's antec had a bloated panasonic primary cap. Probably because the fan's don't run very fast. They were only 85C rated, so I replaced them with 105C ones.

Ha, K-eagle? I've only ever seen those in Golden Tiger built power supplies. From the diablotek, I suppose?

I had the same issue with an Antec PSU:

                https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5600

I ended up replacing the caps. They may be Panasonics but they're 85 C rated.

To make the fans quiet in these PSUs they reduced the fan RPM slightly and with it airflow. In low airflow situations you want high temp caps.
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.
