    DirecTV HR22-100 Power Supply dead

Got an old DirecTV HR22-100 satellite receiver in for repair.

    Complaint:
Damn thing doesn't turn on anymore and how important it is to keep the family happy during COVID shutdown.

Well… let's see what can be done about that.

    Fix:
    FP102: 2.5A mini fuse blown
    DP101: 3V9 Zener diode shorted
TP102: P8NK80ZFP n channel MOSFET full pack shored all 3 legs
    CP209 & CP222 10V 2200uF capacitors leaked and bulged.

Most stuff I had on hand, but cheated a little on the MOSFET and used a 12N60 full pack instead. The old MOSFET was shorted all around, but the PWM 1207B was still good.

    Verdict:
Kept a family's sanity in check. Priceless.

I should have posted it as almost worthless repair. For folks in the US this is a non issue. However for Canadian folks, this is a big deal since DTV is authorizing new receivers only if they send a tech out. Oh well...
