I have a Samsung UN58TU7000FXZC (same as UN58TU7000FXZA, just the Canadian model) with no picture. Backlight is on and sound is coming out just fine. Just no picture.
What is frustrating is that there's no voltage test point and no component labelling of any kind.
What I have found so far:
1. No voltage at pins 91-94 of the 96 pins connector CN1300 (marked 1 on the picture). This TV set has no T-CON board. The 96 pin flex cable goes directly to the right (when facing TV) lower panel board. Itself is linked with another flex to the other side.
2. Voltage doesn't come back if I disconnect the 96 pin flex cable.
3. A DC to DC converter chip (VPMS2GMB, marked 2 on the picture) controls many coils. It may be the one that is marked IC400_UT (just below coil marked 6).
4. Coils marked 3, 4 and 5 have control and produce a voltage.
5. Coil marked 6 seems to be for internal usage. Both sides are connected to the chip.
6. Coil 7 doesn't receive any pulse (connected directly to the chip).
7. Coil 8 doesn't receive any pulse from the chip through the mosfet marked 9 (N-Channel mosfet marked PY8N10GR).
8. Its output once rectified by diode marked 10 is the one that goes directly to the 4 pins marked 1 of the 96 pin connector.
9. When I say that the twp coils receive no pulse, I mean no pulse at all. Nothing at all on my scope in single trigger mode.
Do you have any info on the VPMS2GMB chip? Is that a clone of another chip? I'm most interrested to know if there's enable pins. That chip is hard to find. The only place I found it is through an authorized Samsung parts reseller:

It is Samsung part #1203-009371. At $35.95, I have to be sure that the chip is faulty before making a call.
