Panasonic 50st30 plasma tv, where do I need to recap?

In order to get a proper picture from this plasma...I have to raise the gamma setting in order to see a balanced pic with proper black detail and lower the contrast setting in order to see all the proper levels of white...this could simply be phosphor wear or perhaps I need to address some caps somewhere on one of the boards??

I had a crt projector years ago, and the recap I did make it seem so much better in several ways..should I consider doing this on this plasma? And if so, what board or boards should I do?

and for what it's worth...it seems to be more prone to image retention these days. Could that be bad cap related?

Check the sustain voltages first . They might be off or they might need atweak to compensate for the age of the panel

is that something that is adjustable via a pot?

Values are usually o the label of panel and adjusted with pots on the board . Pots should be labeled .

Check the screws that hold down the SC board. They may be coming loose. If you download the service manual you can enter the menu where you can adjust for aging. You can set the VS high or low. Elektrotanya.com has the manual.
