    AOC L32W551T Display Problem!!!

Hi guys I am new to this forum but require some advice!

I was watching TV the other night and suddenly picture went but sound and backlight remained fine. After trawling various sites I decided to replace the t-con board (I had also got a repairman out who immediately diagnosed this as the fault). I bought a 2nd hand board off ebay and on replacing this into the set today I have now got picture back! Only problem now is that their is a solid white vertical line at left edge of screen and also one in the dead centre of the display The 2nd hand t-con was off a Polaroid TV so now I am thinking that either a) the replacement t-con may be faulty or b) as this board was off a different TV then maybe it is not compatible with my set? The replacement has the same part no. as my old one but the barcoded white label at left edge of board does not match my old one whereas a brand new Acoustic Solutions board from **********.co.uk has exactly the same information on white label (ie M$35-D010611-L$KTR7075006KD).

Can anyone help? I also notice with this card from Polaroid TV that picture is also offset so does this mean even although it is the same part no. that it quite simply isn't compliant with my TV and the Acoustic Solutions one may be?

Also phoned up a local, well-known and experienced TV tech and he said that 2nd hand board may have been set up specifically for the Polaroid TV.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated guys as I am tearing my hair out here lol!

You either have a bad LCD display or a dud T-con; I'm going to go with the latter.

You could also have a loose connector on the T-con ribbon cables; make sure they are properly in place.

If you have the original T-con, they are often easy to fix; on one repair (of an Acoustic Solutions TV with a Samsung panel) a fuse had simply blown. Replacing this fixed the issue and picture returned. Also, it's cheaper to replace a small SMD fuse than the T-con.

Thanks for the reply m8 I have checked both ribbons at top of t-con and re-seated bottom cable from main board to no avail, tested continuity of both fuses (pico) on both cards and both fine. All components on both cards look fine visually???

2nd board also faulty or incompatible with my set?

If you completely unplug the cable from the main board to the T-con, do the lines persist?

Negative m8 screen just goes black with backlight on as per original fault.

Okay, repeat the test, but instead of completely removing it, just partially remove it. Wiggle it around a bit. You'll get some strange patterns but if the lines still show, the T-con or panel is the problem (T-con most likely.)

OK my good man thanks for your helpful advice, I think the 2nd board is faulty and/or incompatible so I will return that and go ahead and order the brand new board.
