This is possibly an incorrect setting on the main board. Have you tried a factory reset? If not, it may be AS15G gamma chip failure.

      Hi Tom,

I've tried reseting it to factory settings via Service Mode, but still the problem persists. It seems that when the TV get's hotter the pictures went back to normal, but when you powered off the TV for 30mins the problem goes back again.

      Tnx,

      Mike

That does sound like AS15G chip. Please post a picture of the T-con.

          Hi tom,

You are right that the problem was in the t-con, using a x10 magnification lens I found a cold solder around the as15g chip. This was the cause of washout picture at cold start.

Thank you for pointing out where to start troubleshoting this problem. Its now ok after resoldering the cold areas.

          Tnx,

          Mike

Usually it's not just cold solder - the actual chip fails. If the problem comes back, you will need to replace that chip. It's available for around $5.

I diagnosed it by using cold spray.
What I might try is to make a small heat sink to make it run cooler. At least for testing purposes until I get a new chip.
