60ls5700 no picture only audio and backlight

someone please help my lg 60ls5700 tv just went out all the sudden when I was playing xbox. all I can see is the backlight when I turn I on. I checked the all boards on back I don't see any bad caps or bad connections will post pics if necessary

also when I touch the screen when its on I get a white flicker anywhere I touch if that helps

I purchased a tconn board but just hoping that's the issue

It would be useful. Try the T-con board first but if not, then invest in a multimeter. Good, clear photos of the parts in the TV would also help.

marked 32V/5A near connectors going to main board.

Test that.

Your pictures are pretty good (especially for the average quality on this forum!) but would be more useful top-down view. If you have problems with flash glare, you might consider taking the boards out onto a windowsil or into sunlight which works well.

Alright i will test when I get my meter later today. Does the fuse look bad? And do u need better pic view let me know

You can't tell from looking directly at those types of fuses.
At the moment, the pictures are fine - it was just a general comment.

Wow u must be a expert at this man thanks. I will post back wen I test it. When your testing tv should be powered off correct? Im pretty techy but not at this type of work not sure what to look for in the fuse when the meter is touching it

Ohms: TV powered off.
Volts: TV powered on.

You typically use ohms to test a fuse.

Not an expert, just done a lot of TVs as a hobby.

Ok I have a digital multimeter but I'm still a little stumped on how to work the meter. I set the meter to ohms which on my meter it looks like a horseshoe When I touch with the fuse I don't get any readings?

Short the two probes of the meter together, see what you read on the meter, then use the probes on both ends of the fuse, it should show the same reading if the fuse is good.

Is this the fuse I'm suppose to check if it is I'm not getting the same reading the meter just jumps up and down

That's a capacitor. The fuse in question is just above that.

K i tested the one right above and i guess it's good because it reads the same

Hey, just a update I installed a new tconn board and now it's working like a charm. For everyone that has only backlight and sound but no picture get a tconn board and save yourself from paying diagnostic fees From LG and etc

Glad to hear. That being said not all backlight no picture faults are t-con. Sometimes the main board or panel can cause it.
