Sure here are two clips of Music with / without sound bar. In the second clip I am disconnecting the power lines of the L/R channel amplifier boards to shut up the sound bar.

The sound at the subwoofer is obviously distorted and as mentioned previously all waveforms I have measured are total garbage quality on all devices (soundbar speakers, subwoofer module, headphone out). They sound vaguely fine (i.e. over the headphones) but a smooth crispy sine looks different the last time I checked. Now a difference between the bench setup I used to test the subwoofer module and the audio path into the TV obviously is that the former setup uses analog audio fed from a smartphone into the Sure amp that drives the subwoofer and the TV is purely digitally fed via a PC via HDMI2 (also tried HDMI3) because I can't get the analog inputs to work. Maybe the PC AV channel (VGA + 3.5mm jack) needs to have the VGA connected to even consider reading in the audio from the 3.5mm jack and putting it out to the speakers?

you need to disconnect the subwoofer V supply. not the wave input... so this crack will remain or out

EDIT; also after disconnect the Supply on subwoofer , take out audio out from TV to test it with your external amplifier

You mean I should disable the voltage supply of the subwoofer amplifier IC U53? To check if the sub amp ic is causing the problems?

on the ic pin or complete on the boards socket rail.... in my post #3 i mentioned Filter leak... on subwoofer boards you have filter standing Caps.. need to take them out check the legs if they are leaking and measure the ESR

I can measure the capacity and ESR with the transistor tester but I don't know how to measure leakage. Hmm ...

EDIT: Never mind, you meant checking for leaking electrolyte. Yeah sure. I can do that

if you don't have tools to measure ESR. i encourage you to replace them. with now days almost 12 years old

Can't see any leaking electrolyte on any of the caps and I won't have much time to work on the logic board this week. Maybe on Friday or Sunday. As mentioned these little transistor (or component) tester modules from AliE can measure ESR though probably not as accurate as a dedicated professional ESR meter.

Usually those testers are pretty accurate but you can not get decent readings with the component in circuit.

Ah that is good to know. I will at least lift one of the legs of the capacitors or even desolder them completely with my desoldering station.

Yamaha MOX8 boot freeze and distorted sound
                        by maleksa
My Yamaha MOX8 synthesizer recently developed two issues.

Firstly, after booting up, it operates as normal. However, after about 5 minutes, the sound starts to get distorted (broken up screeching sound) almost like putting it through a guitar distortion pedal. After a while, the distorted sounds will go away for a while and comes back. At times, the synthesizer will also freeze I need to power off and on again.

Secondly, when powering off and on again, there will be times where the synthesizer will freeze during the boot sequence (freezes at the MOX8 Opening Screen),...

                        NHT SW10 Subwoofer no sound
                        by redoxy
Unit was working then one day no sound with the unit humming when the power switch is in the off position. When I move the switch to the Auto or ON position, nothing happens, the humming stops but no sign of life (power LED was off). I opened the amplifier and noticed one of the main power 6800uF capacitors was bulging. I replaced both 6800uF capacitors and also replace the large resistors (R41 and R140) since they looked burned. The humming when power switch is in the off position was still present but the unit will power on now. Tried connecting signal to it but then no sound. When I move the...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                        by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

HP 8470p - distorted sound and noise when playing audio
                        by televizora
                        Hello.
I have an issue with HP 8470p - rather strange one.
I have a noise and sound distortions on both internal speakers and external speakers, when I plug such into the 3.5mm audio jack.
Seems like the noise is present especially when I play audio, where there are parts/sections where the volume of the actual recorded sound is low.
Interestingly, when I play the windows sound test, everything seems to be almost okay. The sound/distortions are similar to when you have interference from some other piece of equipment nearby or when you have an audio receiver with bad amplifier...

Bose Acoustimass 10 IV Subwoofer No Sound. Help with burnt component identification?
                        by nobbnobb1
I picked up this used Bose Acoustimass 10 IV speaker system. Speakers seem to work fine, but the subwoofer does not make any noise. So I took apart the unit and found some obviously failed (burnt) components:

                        - 1x 3.14 A @ 250V main circuit fuse
                        - 1x bridge rectifier GBU601. there's actually two of these on the board, one is obviously burnt and the other does not seem to have any anomalies like shorts. However I figure may as well replace both.
                        - 2x diode. This is tricky because the only markings I see on it are: "617 402". No current rating or anything else....
