LG OLED C1, SOS-Turn Off, Stand alone test

    Hello guys,

I recently picked up an LG C1 in 65 inch size. Previous owner told me that the TV won‘t start, so I did believe due to PSU issue, but not this time. I could narrow it down to the T-Con or Panel.

PSU and Mainboard work both like intended, all Voltages available, Optical on when T-Con lower Ribbon is disconnected and I even managed to get some picture with P-Only, IN-STOP cycle but only for 2 sec. before shutdown.

For the stand alone test the panel starts with some flashing horizontal white lines and then continues to build up some color on the left side of the panel with increasing in brightness and variation over a time of 5-10 minutes. See the attached pictures.

I‘m now stuck in further investigation on how to determine if it‘s and Panel or T-Con issue. Btw all fuses at T-Con are continuous.

    Greetings from germany,

    Theo

Only the welcome screen like I‘ve seen before already. With some artifacting lines in the middle. After 1-2 sec. it powers off automatically.

              Alright, I‘ll do so.

I also own another TV: CX running on an C1 mainboard

But I assume because T-Con and Panel are married It won‘t work swapping the CX-T-Con with the C1 one?

yours steps when you plug back EVDD socket... it show part on left side blue... then clear image... then horizontal. start1 OLED Cells , start2 and 3 T-con reaction... this why must invist on T-CON first if not then need to cutting the cover metal plate to have access to buffer boards

So I tried the T-Con from my working CX and unfortunately it creates a similar error with the artifacting lines in the middle.

So I guess I‘m going to cut the TV to get to the buffers…

I swapped all working parts from my CX to C1 and other way around. Exactly the same results. CX working with both sets of Tcon and Mainboard and C1 same lines with the running HW from the CX.

now I‘ll to the dirty work
