Samsung tv dosent turn on (no signal/standby light out) after lightning hit the house

    Model nr.: UE32D5005

inside of the frame is a number called:
    LTJ320HN01-J

The lightning hit just outside our house and fried our Samsung TV and out toaster. Funny enough it did not do anything to our new LG 55".

Anything I could do to try to fix it guys ?
I tried to measure the fuse (marked as 1 in the picture) with my multimeter and it looks fine... or it gives resistance if that is the correct english word.

I have ofcorse measures the power cord and where it goes into the tv... measuring 230v here in denmark.

Any other logic steps to I should measure - be aware im fairly new in this so hope for your understanding that im a liiiiiitle sloooooowwww

I tried to give each part numbers in the picture making it more easy for you to referer to a part.. and also helping me with understading what you talk about

I also upload a picture of my multimeter since im a little unsure what it should be on when measuring other things than the fuze resistance.

    Big regards from Denmark

what is the resistance reading off of the part numberd 3?,1?

Re: Samsung tv dosent turn on (no signal/standby light out) after lightning hit the h

My multimeter is on "6 o'clock" for this meassure.. ohm 200 it says - asume that is the correct place yes

On nr 1. I have cliped one of the legs from the curcit, for giving a clearer meassure (correct me if thats a wrong way do do it.

Anyway nr 1. (the fuse) meassures around 00,9

Nr 3 i still fully installed on the curcit - when i try to meassure it it gives no response at all... is that because i need to get it out of the curcit first ?

Re: Samsung tv dosent turn on (no signal/standby light out) after lightning hit the h

That indicates the fuse is not blown and the surge protector device is also OK.
CAREFULLY, with your meter on the 1000V DC range, check the voltage between "-" and "+" of the device marked 18. For 230V country, around 320V is expected.

Should the power cord be on when doing this ? or is it because there is so much power "stored" in the unit im going to messure ?

The messure I did before was with the power cord out - please correct me if that is wrong.

Again thanx for understanding... im not very pro in this world

I made the reading with out power cord plugged in.

It meassures nothing when the multimeter is in the position like the picture i attached. DCV 1000.

on 1000v dc it says 001

Hey Multimeter.. sure can.. front and backside are attached here.
The frontside have full sets of numbers. Some of the pieces with 4 legs i have given a "a,b,c,d" maybe making it more easy to explain what to meassure on those units.

                      thanx

on the large filter capacitor (16 or 17) measure from negative lead with the stripe, to the fuse (1) meter set to ac highest setting, need to see if there is power getting to the board,.measure with power applied

also what resistance reading do you get on the part not marked, black disk with DSC next to the transformer marked (11)?,this is your thermistor ,should be around 30 ish ohms when cold.

and measure the voltage across the leads of caps 16 and 17,meter set to 1000VDC with power applied, carefull this may have high voltage on it 320+ DCV in an ideal world.

                          Hey Multimeter.
I attached a new picture with letters on each "leg" on each part now also... since it requires that i thing when explaining...

I made a big error at the start up (and one on the end of this comment).

                          1.Startup error
Pretty simple i know but the fuze leg was cut off when messuring the resistance... that way its logic there was no action up to nr 18. I put the leg back on the board and that helped.

I messured nr 18.. and there was 320 on leg A+D. On on the B+C there was 230.

Then multimeter slippede and while i was holding on the "c" messuring B... it sliped and catched A also... not so good - something flashed with a light - and sadly now the reading on A+D is around 6... and B+C is almost nothing.

I think I just burned nr 18.... jesus im destroing more than i fix hehe.

i also messured nr 16+17 and they were bot h around 320 i recall.... after i burned 18 these messures some very funny numbers... very low.
I hope maybe its because 18 is not sending power to them after the burn, and I have not also destroyed them also.

I messured nr 16 - leg A and nr 1 leg A - before i burned nr 18 its messured full power... after the burn it messures 0

Hmmm not sure how to get going with this now I made more trouble than before hehe.

Unsure what the part nr is for nr 18. If its the JP817... when searching og that on google and shopjimmy.com it finds nothing. Maybe i need to remove the cooling iron to get to the real part nr ?. Was just interested in seeing what the cost is for what I just destroyed

0.00 would indicate fuse ok ,a 1 would indicate fuse open
