    Toshiba 55ht1u Help

A couple of days ago we had a power outage, the lights went dim and a few seconds later all the power went out. Once the power was restored and when I went to restart the TV, the machine worked but there now is what appears to be a dense white fog over the whole screen. You can make out that the machine is functioning correct on all channels but big time white even fog. I have tried a couple of different video sources thinking it might have been the Sat Receiver but no luck. The machine is a four year old Toshiba 55ht1u 55" LCD 1080 P. It has pro formed well up until now. Has anyone got any suggestion?

I just tried a factory reset, the machine still works in the background behind this white screen. My guess would be one of the boards, which I am quite capable of replacing, if I knew which one?

The main board sends LVDS to the Tcon. Could be either but most likely the main board when dealing with power surges or outages. Do you have a scope ?

No I do not have a scope, had one in the past, but haven't used one in years.
I guess the best solution would be to go shopping for a new machine and a good surge protect battery back up UPS.

I just hate to scape what seems to be a good machine that fills my needs.

        Thanks for the response .
