Hi everyone
Please can someone help I have a Panasonic TH-42PZ800B that was given to me as part of a house clearance. I was given to understand that the set had not been used for some time and was stored in a garage covered up
The first thing I did was clean out the back of the set removing all dust where possible without removal of boards or cables.
I then test the set with no AV inputs it worked! the set did not come with remote or brackets but did come with base,I then. Found some bracket and a genuine remote.
The TV has been stored in my house waiting for brackets and remote.Yesterday I decided to remove the cheap Techwood and replace with my New to me Panasonic.
I turned it on happy days until 20 mins later the picture turned negative but with mostly white. So I turn the set off and back on no picture but sound and no blink codes.
I then left the set for 20 mins and it worked but only for 5 mins.
So I removed the set and removed the back cover to check psu and connections all good . When I turn the set back on I only had half the screen (right hand side only) so I removed and reinstalled all ribbons on the buffer boards on y sustain (SU and SD) and x sustain ( SS) I also removed and refitted all ribbon cables and connectors to T-con (D) I also removed and reconnected the C1 and C2 data driver boards
I then turned on the TV and the display worked but was black no snow I then removed the SC20 ribbon and reinstalled in my frustration I retired to bed with out further testing.
This morning I got up and turned on the set and it worked for 30 mins so thinking I may have fixed it I connected up to the sat and DVD it worked for a further 2 hours with no problem but wait for it! the negative white image came back for 30 sec and then the picture was good again for a further 20 mins then whilst have lunch with the family in the other room a loud crack was heard I come into the lounge and the TV was off with the six blink showing on the led
Manual says driver SOS1 (SC energy recovery circuit) SU SD and SC
A very knowledgable chap in the UK suggest this forum for help his opinion was that the loose sc20 connection may have caused a bad waveform to take out the SC board but this fault is very very rare!
Sorry for the long story but thought it best to give the full story from start to finish
Many thanks
Regards
