    Thank you so much Tom! Is this old broken psu any good to you?

    The replacement was only £25 inc p&p so wasn't all bad!

      Nice fix in the end... Keep the broken board for spares.

      A suggestion: apply thermal grease to the diodes on the PSU to avoid future failure.
      This should keep them at the same temperature. (Imbalance in temperature causes the failure.)

          I don't really do TV repairs that much any more - only very occasionally - the rise of the supermarket LED has made it much less economical to do.
