    Samsung UE46B6000 problems.

    Hello, my first post here

I recently acquired a TV from a friend who didnt have time to fix it, so i took it upon myself to try it as i need a tv for my gamingroom.

    Tech info
    Mainboard: BN9402662B
    PSU: BN44-00269A
    Firmware: T-CHL5DEUC-2009.0

The TV starts up fine, one click from the PSU and displays a picture.
On the source list i see HDMI ports hopping in and out like im putting in and pulling out a cable.

When i try to connect a HDMI it registers it but no signal.
It also turns off and on again at random intervals, sometimes it can run fine for 5-10 min and then it goes off and on. Sometimes just a min after i turn it on it happens.

I`ve opened the TV, checked all the capacitors on the PSU and they seem fine. No bulging, measures according to marking and so on.

When i disconnect the mainboard and start it the backlist comes on, so i focused on the mainboard.

Took it out and visually inspected it, couldnt see anything special. Put it back in and measured the voltage regulators ( 3 i found )

    P3: 8v

Pictures will be added when i get home from work, around 2-3 hours.
Hopefully you can help me with tips as to how to continue

Could you provide a picture of the back of the mainboard? I think this model applies for a repair kit on shopjimmy. Its a IC that needs to be replaced , thats causing the tv to turn on/off randomly.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

Try disconnecting the touch button panel and using the remote only (IR sensor may be separate?)

                      Re: Samsung UE46B6000 problems.

Did you try updating the Firmware? I had a 8000 series not register any HDMI connection so I thought it was the main-board and was about to pull the trigger on a used one and decided to check to see if Samsung had released a FW update and there was one.

I installed it and boom all 4 HDMI ports functioned perfectly and now the new owner could not be happier.

Checked and it had an update available, upgraded but still no difference.
Also i noticed i dont have any sound, not on startup/shutdown or when i ran the selftest.

I figured so... not much you can do, besides getting a new main board. I never had any much luck fixing anything more serious by just updating the firmware.

Well... SJ doesn't list your TV nor your mainboard, since you are in Norway.

The fix that i mentioned applies for alot of models.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oC4f2Ik8rCI , maybe you can search the net and see if your mainboard has the same issues. Or has this same chip!

My own led tv also shuts itself down with a 5 blink ( double blink ) , Still have not fixed it yet but mine is from 2012.

Same here , getting a access denied! You need to find out what kind of IC it is and see if you have the same on your mainboard.
