Difference Between BN44-00445a and BN44-00445c Power Supply

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a BN44-00445a and BN44-00445c power supply board? From the pictures I've seen they appear to be identical. I have a Samsung 59" plasma pn59d530a3fxza that needs a new one. The bad one is a BN44-00445c but is proving to be hard to find where the BN44-00445a is more readily available.

REV C is the newer version, manufacturers will make new revision when they find out that there are problems with the older revision, to go from REV A to REV C they must have found lots of problems.

Ah. I was thinking I could go ahead and use the BN44-00445a as a replacement and keep the BN44-00445c for spare parts.

        Other reasons for revisions changes:

        - a component they are using is obsolete so they have to update
        - a cheaper alternative component is found
        - a redesign might result in cheaper and less components
        - changes to make automated soldering easier
        - changes to make the board more "universal" or for the next generation

I do not mean to pick on you, but this is definitely an overstatement.

First, there are many different reasons for moving from one revision to another and not necessarily (or even mostly) finding problems in a given revision.

Second, nothing guarantees that the later revision will have less issues than the original.

In particular I've seen MUCH more BN44-00445C bad boards than BN44-00445A ones.

Note it doesn't mean the C is worse than A either, it may simply mean there are a whole lot more C-s out there than A-s.

Finally, the move from A to C does not indicate lots of problems at all, this is misleading.

where are the B version LOL ?
to me as noticed new version of PWB related to date of manufacture include less components specially at Hot area . so a-b-c what ever cold area remain the same diagram.

Thank you for your videos! Love em.

Too broke and DIY to send parts off for fixing - sorry!... However... I've got a tv which I think someone swapped the 445A into instead of the 445C (my tv model indicates it should be the C, not A version).

Would this make the TV non-operational? Anyone running either of these boards in place of another? Used the shopjimmy repair kit but not luck yet...

              Cheers!
