Torubleshooting Toshiba 40TL933G

Hi all

I bought a 40 Inch Toshiba LED TV "Defect" Thinking that i can correct the problem. But I dont know how to go with. Could anyone guide me...

Problem:
Getting horizontal lines on the top 3/4 of the screen.
also getting extra white shades of vertical lines depends on the image.

TV channel Scanning etc is fine.
sound and picture is good.
Remote is working good.
all menu/preferences working normal.

What i did:
I opened the back cover, Checked(just by seeing) all the capacitors are good, I I checked all the cables, everything is fixed properly.

What should i do next:?

I would say failed Lcd screen sorry seen artifacts like this before. Not fixable.

Thanks alot for quick reply.
Then the only chance is to change the LCD screen? If so, any other 40" screen LCD will fit?

No worries, you will need the exact same LTA400HV04 lcd screen with the numbers exactly matching. The software on the driver boards is tied to the particular panel.

is there any way to check which of the tv models use the same LCD "LTA400HV04"??

You might be able to find one by just looking the numbers up into google.

Simple but great piece of info. thanks.

Is it possible to buy LCD screens alone? without frame or backlights etc.? Is it available online? is it risky? please suggest.
