Re: Proscan 50" PLDED5066A-E no backlights
OK I will check it and post the findings. Do I check the whole LED string as I would a single diode? I don't know if this is anything that would help, T2F has 189.1 mV and 195.4 mV on primary side. The secondary side is connected to the 4 large diodes.

Re: Proscan 50" PLDED5066A-E no backlights
all right, so all power rails are on, PSon and BLon is there, ADJ is there, but still no backlight. The backlight has 5 strings in your case (con1). Unplug that connector and see if one of them is shorted or open. Also try to measure and see if the voltage ramps up and back down or if there is nothing at all.
So either you got a short or open LED backlight string(s) or the PSU is indeed not putting any backlight voltage out for some reason. Check those 4 large diodes underneath con1 and the 2 large resistors maybe those are bad?Leave a comment:

We really need to know what is on those connectors on the PSU. Measure and post them with the corresponding pin outs, so we have a picture what works and what doesn't.Leave a comment:

Re: Proscan 50" PLDED5066A-E no backlights
I have been searching the posts and found the cap C10F should read 385V and ground. "budm" stated the cap is connected to the primary side of T2F. The readings I got on C10F 182.6 MV and .3 mV and T2F 189.1 mV and 195.4 mV. I don't know if this will help but I thought I would add it just in case.Leave a comment:

Re: Proscan 50" PLDED5066A-E no backlights
Thanks for helping. Sorry about all those unnecessary voltage reading. I am a novice so I was trying to get as much information out as I could on the first post.
I don't have the connector readings with me but I do recall the top connector (CON1) when "on" read .662V and "off" read 1.910V.
Con3 (13 pin) and Con 2 (4 pin) were getting the correct voltage as marked on the backside of the board.
Con 2F with GRN, NC, ADJ, and BLon I don't recall the readings but I will check and post it tonight.
Thank you again for helping.Leave a comment:

Re: Proscan 50" PLDED5066A-E no backlights
Well... you did a whole bunch of work, measuring all kinds of things. However it doesn't say too much.
So first, check if the back lights do get BLon signal on the PSU coming from the main board. If that BLon is there, but no backlight, check the voltages on the LED backlight connector. You may also want to use the min / max function on your DMM. Maybe you have short or an open on your LED backlight strings.Leave a comment:

I have a Proscan PLDED5066A-E that has sound but no back lights. When it is powered on, the red standby light will turn blue and you can hear sound but no back lights at all.

by max789Hello, I have a problem with my Samsung UE48H6410SSXZG with the main board BN41-02156A and the power board BN44-00709A. Everything seemed like this, the TV could no longer be switched on, the standby LED always flashed 5x2 times. Backlight was off and no sound from TV. Also made the flashlight test and there was no picture.
I made the following tests:
1. Disconnected the main board from Power Board = backlight works.
2. Connected the main board and disconnected the T-Con = backlights does not work.
So I ordered a main board from Ebay also BN41-02156A but from... -
by bpcannan'Morning,
I get sound and picture when powering on the TV and its stays that EXCEPT that the left half of the screen will dim every few seconds then return to normal while the right side of the screen performs as designed.
Did the soft and hard reset options pulling the plug, using the reet option in the vizio menu to no avail.
I checked the mainboard - found some popped capacitors so replaced it - but that did not change the situation.
I checked the t-con board. It is getting good power. Then I removed one ribbon cable to see if I could isolate... -
by htv239Hello,
I am currently troubleshooting an LG 60UH8500 TV (2016 TV). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Overall Issue: When TV is turned on, backlights all come on for about 10 seconds, then all go out. There is sound and there is a picture on the display (obviously hard to see without backlights, but it is there).
What I Have Done So Far: 1) Removed the back TV cover to expose the boards (Power Supply, Tcon, and Main), 2) blew out any dust and cleaned all connections, 3) Noticed that the LED backlights are fed from two separate connectors... -
by Francesc V.Hi:
i am trying to repair this Christmas lights from my parents. They are incandescent lights, no led lights.
I have tried with 12V a 24V small lights that I found in Aliexpress but is obvious that are not the right ones. They last microseconds connected. Do they blow because of Amps or Volts?
If I measure the Amps in the string........it's only 90mA. If I measure the Volts in the "green box"......it's between 0 and 190V, but doing a little bit of maths from the number of bulbs in series.......it's only about 6V per lamp.
Could... -
by jesteraceHi everyone I have this TV which was dead one day when I tried to turn it on. I've had the cover off and there was just a pulsating/electrical clicking/ticking noise from the PSU. I disconnected the mainboard as sometimes this works to just fire it up with backlights on? That didn't help. Same noise. Then I disconnected the backlight cable from the PSU and the TV came alive. It appeared to respond to the remote and i'm pretty sure it's fully operational when there is no backlight connected.
However, I am in a dilemma.
I tested the backlight outputs with the lights disconnected... - Loading...
