If this don't work I think It will be a scrapper....

well after reflowing scaler ic set has been running fine all night. as the heatsink on the scaler is soldered through the board applying pressure on the chip does not help diagnosing the fault. back is now back on the set will give it a little longer on test but looks like its ok.

For new members maybe if you get a minute can you upload a picture and point out which chip you have reflowed etc as new members may not know which is the scaler ic. many thanks and hope you have now managed to sort your tvs issue out a few days soak testing should now tell either way.

Can I ask what process did you use to reflow? Hot air gun, kitchen oven, IR station etc.
              Thanks

couldn't be bothered to set my infrared station up, that's packed away on me shelf gathering dust.
just used preheater and hot air station with a thermocouple tapped to the board.
