I very much doubt anyone here will know what a CRT TV is .I have been repairing TV for nearly ,40 years now.

I loved my 21" Trimitron when playing games on my computer! That thing is huge and heavy!

          Exactly, a lot of caps!

I'll do the chassis only, not the vertical boards.
And to be honest, I'll leave the big original elco at the primary.
          All others will be new.

That sound crazy but it's for a friend.

Two nichicon PL have eaten 4 square centimeter of copper!

I told my friend: "You're silly! To reduce a pcb in that condition they must been leaking and smoking since a couple of month! What you're waiting for?

-stay tuned- elcos will arrive on July 1st.

It's a good idea . You won't have to worry about re-soldering , because these were some tin to envy .
I threw one huge AR 25 Last week , probably from laziness . But i kept the boards for useful parts , as usual ..And eventually , i found also the faulty parts . It was moisture destroying the vertical Audio system .

System is now operative but I need the manual because it need G2 adjustment.
Never done on Trinitron so I need to read before destroying all the work done till now.

The chassis needed FULL RESOLD, the vertical boards needed PARTIAL RESOLD,
the CRT pcb needed FULL RESOLD, the small PCB that link chassis to speaker needed FULL RESOLD.

So: a lot of Sn-Pb (100-150g), a lot of caps, 4*4 square cm routes destroyed by acid (nichicon PL = bye bye copper )

If it is NOT YOUR TV, don't do it!
A lot of time, a lot of components, a lot of Sn-Pb (100-150g)

                Stay tuned.
