    Samsung UN55D6050TFXZA

    Hi!

Current Symptoms: When plugged in, the backlight is off, the standby light blinks 2x5, then the screen flashes (When captured on video, the light seems to be coming from the top left corner of the screen). This cycle happens as soon as the unit is plugged in and repeats endlessly.

What I have done so far: When I first got the unit, it did the same thing but I could hear a clicking noise during the cycle. I visually inspected everything and couldn't find any issues that were clear to me. I traced the noise to the power board, so I ordered a new one. The tv standby light pattern and screen flash still remain, but the new power board does not click anymore. After spending some time reading this forum, I unplugged the cable connecting the power board to the main board, then plugged the unit in. The backlight came on and remained on, so I assumed that the issue was with the main board. After getting a new main board, the problem is still present. I didn't want to bother you all with this, but trying to fix it on my own has proved to be a stupid mistake. The attached pictures are of the current setup with a new power board and new main board.

    Part numbers from ShopJimmy:
Samsung BN44-00424A (PD55A1_BHS) Power Supply / LED Board
    Samsung BN95-00498B (S128CM4C4LV0.4, BN41-01662) T-Con Board
Samsung BN94-05038G Main Board for UN55D6050TFXZA

Please let me know if i should try to take better pictures or if there is anything else I can do to make this easier. Thank you in advance for any and all help, I really appreciate it!!

So far your power supply board is OK based on the BACKLIGHTS come on and saty on when the cable between the Main board and the power supply board is not connected.
It is possible that the replacement main board is bad.

Is that something I could check? Or would a better picture allow you to check?

You should check what the Pson and Bl voltages do to help confirm the mb as being the issue, check them and let us know what they read in standby and with the Tv on.

I apologize if this sounds stupid because I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, but I don't know if I can get two readings because when I plug the tv in, the issue with the standby light blinking starts and I cannot press any buttons or change anything. Should I have all of the boards connected when I get the readings?

                      Re: Samsung UN55D6050TFXZA

With everything plugged in, the voltages would jump when the screen flashed, so i unplugged the power board from the main. With the backlight constantly on, I was able to see that Ps-on read 5.361. Before I could check the Blu_on, the backlight started flashing. It was a faster pace than the flashing with main plugged in though.

The backlights should be on steady when main board is not connected to the power supply board, should be no flickering.
If you search BC for 'Samsung BN44-00424A' you will see that bad LEDs can create cycling problem.

Thanks for your help, it sounds like the LEDs are the issue. I'll check it out later and report back.

After taking apart the tv, I found this:

And after reading this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=34566& , I removed the bad LEDs. In that thread there is some confusion about replacing the LEDs but someone says you can just jumper them if there aren't a lot. I want to make sure I do this correctly, so would i just solder two wires to connect remaining LEDs and bridge the gap? Is there anything I should be aware of?

I am not sure if it is to late for this set, but might as well comment for others to know.
On this specific strip for this model, if you have 1 or 2 burnt LED's like you have shown in the pictures, then you more than likely have at least 10 more bad LED's on that strip that are shorted but are just not showing any physical damage.
Test them with a digital multimeter in beep mode.
You will need to replace all of those leds.
