Bush DLED48287HDCNTDFVPY Standby LED Blinking Constantly

    Hi,

When I power the TV on, the standby LED blinks constantly and the screen goes off after about 2 minutes and then comes back on (backlight only, no video) - this process repeats itself until the power cable is unplugged.

I have changed the power supply board with a known working part and the issue remains the same.

Before I order a new system board, is there anything else I can try?

I have read that I can possibly try USB firmware recovery / service mode reset, but I can't find the correct file(s) on here.

The TV has the following components:
    • System Board: Vestel 17MB211 (23454123)
    • Panel Model: VES480UNDS-2D-N12

    Thank you.

Pictures of your boards and power supply voltage reading would be a good place to start. What is the power supply board number. You may eg have bad leds so voltage readings will help to diagnose the problem.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

I have attached photos of the system board, panel sticker and the PSU.

I don't have PSU voltage readings to hand, but I can confirm that the PSU currently fitted works 100% as it was removed from a fully working TV to test with.

      Thank you.

So you do have video initially and then after approx 2 mins it goes off, backlights remain. How about sound?

I don't get any video or sound output at all.

When I plug in the power cable and press the "ON" button on the remote, the TV powers on, but only the backlight comes on (no video or sound), the standby LED blinks constantly and then after about 2 minutes, the backlight goes off and then the backlight comes on again and the process repeats itself until the power cable is removed.

I checked the LED voltage as you asked and I got a reading of 4.25V.

          Thanks.

Check the solder joints on CN11 for cracked or loose joints
What voltage do you have on the fuse on the Tcon board?

I have inspected all solder joints and everything looks fine.

Can you advise on where the fuse is located on the board please?

Is it worth me trying a USB firmware recovery method if I can find the correct firmware file(s)?

              Thanks.

If you post pictures of your Tcon that would help. It looks something like attached

I will upload a photo of this tomorrow for you (it's 22:30 here in the UK and I'm having a few beers to alleviate the boredom of isolation ).

I should have mentioned in my OP that I disconnected everything from the system board to test (except for the PSU and LED board) and while I didn't get a backlight (because the cable was disconnected to test), the TV showed the same symptoms (constant blinking power LED for about 2 minutes, then a brief pause (no LED), then blinking again).

                  Thanks.

I can't see a board that looks like the one you showed me.

There are five PCBs in the TV:
                    • System Board
                    • PSU
                    • LED Board
                    • Wi-Fi Board
                    • Backlight Inverter Board

Please can you review my notes regarding the firmware recovery method and advise if this is worth a try?

                    Thanks.

Is this similar to you mainboard and if it is where does the flat ribbon cable go?
A photo of the back of the set showing the boards interconnected would be helpfull.

You could try to update the firmware if you can locate the correct file.

                          I have a picture!

The TV now boots after running the firmware update, but the remote does not respond when the TV is on (I am currently stuck at the language selection screen).

Is there anything I can do to resolve this?

                          Thanks.

The buttons on the TV don't do anything.

If I unplug the TV and plug it back in, I can power it back on using the remote or the power button on the TV.

                              Thanks.

Now we are convinced that the problem is software. Must have software for 17MB211 and VES480UNDS-2D-N12 panel. I'm sorry but I didn't. Post in the dedicated thread and maybe someone will help you.

Maybe try a simple reset, unplug tv, hold power button on tv in for 30 seconds, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in and try it, that or some combination like that.

I tried the reset, but the issue is the same.

I have asked for a firmware image in the request thread.

                                    Thanks.

I tried again using this image and it worked!

I spoke to Bush technical support earlier who agreed to send me the firmware files, but it looks like I won't be needing them.

Thank you all very much for your help.
