NEC E464 no picture/backlight, standby light blinks on 10s interval

    Hi all,

Hoping you might be able to help me with an odd issue. I have a bank of 4 NEC E464 commercial screens that have been running on an ~8hr cycle for maybe 5 years. I unplugged them during some electrical work, and when I plugged them back in, one refused to come back up. It doesn't respond to the hard buttons or the remote at all. The main "clue" I have to work with is that the standby light blinks twice on a 10-second interval. I can't find a technical manual for these screens to see what that indicates. I've already tried many of the easy internet suggestions (plug directly into the wall, hard power cycle while holding the power button, etc.). I would really love to revive this screen because it would really trigger my OCD to have 1 of the 4 screens be slightly different. I have never cracked open an LCD TV, but am certainly willing to get my hands dirty.

To reiterate, the displays were not plugged in while the electrical work was being done, and there's no obvious reason why the thing just decided to stop working now.

Can anyone suggest where I might start?

    Thanks!

I would say open it up and post pictures of boards. Sounds like maybe a bad capacitor.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

might not work but you could try this: Turn the TV off.
      Then press the {MENU}, {MUTE}, {OK} & {POWER} buttons.
The TV should turn on with the Service Menu displayed. might bring up the service menu, where you could do a factory reset, you MUST be very careful in the service menu or you could brick your whole unit.
