Introduction. Greetings from Spain.

Hi all. I was looking for a good electronic repairs forum and this seems one of the best options when doing a search on internet....

My name is Ferran, 43 years old. I work in the entertainment industy.
Been flirting with electronics since I was a kid, but never got to study electronics or had time enought to get a deeper knowledge.

Did basic repairs for audio, cellullars... you name it! But with the feeling that I really don't know how it all works, which is frustrating... Just repairing based on visual inspections and basic component check.

I've built a lot of projects from scratch (mic preamps, amplifiers, etc...) based on other people's designs. DIY lover.....

I will be bothering with some questions

Hello. I'm a self-employed mechanic/machinist. I'm attempting to fix my friend's Mustang dynamometer. He replaced the power supply but installed too new of a unit, which I discovered had no -5 volt supply. After installing the correct supply, this rectified the problem we were having with the load cell. But I'm still getting no speed output on the monitor screen.

I've checked the hall effect sensor and I am getting the signal to the daughterboard. I traced the signal through three processors in the lower daughterboard. I can see the signal at the input to the upper board which is an ADA1100, made by Real Time Devices. I was able to find a user manual for the upper board but I have not found a schematic for the upper board. My friend did call Mustang Dynamometer and they said they're not servicing these older units. They did offer to upgrade the desktop and the sensors and software for $12K. I'm attempting to do a more economical fix. The motherboard in the desktop is an MB800V-R.

Does anyone have a schematic for the ADA1100? Any help out there would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!

I'm just a guy who doesn't like throwing things out. In my professional life, I'm a sound guy, so I'm used to soldering cables and doing simple repairs on audio equipment, but nothing too fancy.

Fun fact: I cut my teeth reviewing computer parts (mainly fans, cases and power supplies) for a site called Silent PC Review, which is where I got most of my working knowledge of electronics.

Yesterday, My Vizio M43-C1 TV dropped into a restart loop with no backlight, so I started poking around to see if it was repairable, which led me to here...

Based on what I've read on this forum so far, the BGA chips on these mainboards have a habit of crapping out, and I'm reasonably certain that's the case here — a reboot loop suggests the PSU is working, but the mainboard is confused about what it's supposed to be doing.

Hello All.

I do not like throwing things out either, unless they are hopeless. Here is hoping the knowledge I have already found here will help me decide the fate of another Window Cleaner spray LCD TV victim. Before finding the relevant threads, I did not think engineers would even allow this to happen.
