just arrived here fresh and newbie
i am in my forties... had my first computer at the age of 14 and enjoyed playing around and doing a bit of DOS coding back in the days. after finishing school I decided to study IT as a career path.
having worked on and with computers for over 15 years I then decided computers kind of bore me as a day to day work routine and ever since then its... well, ...an ongoing process.

currently I am mainly working outside, getting lots of exercise and fresh air... wonderful!

I have rediscovered computers as a hobby, also making an extra buck by selling parts and custom built systems.
I recently acquired a DELL laptop with a BIOS lock, which brought me here to badcaps... looking for some assistance as the standard instructions I found on the web don't seem to work.

Hope you like my intro and looking forward to reading from you regarding my specific problem in the corresponding thread until then, keep up the goodies!

I have an x260 with a bios password that I'm trying to remove, and got pretty proud of my soldering so far.
We'll see if the computer will boot after i Flash the bios.

Hi, string653 from Tokyo, Japan.

My first computer was the Apple Color Classic II with a Motorola 68080 @ 33 MHz. Got 4 MB of RAM, and couldn't afford to spend on any extra RAM which was too expensive for me at the time.

I simply love to fix something and have found that fixing computers is often tricky and hard, and that's why it keeps me interested so much and makes me desire to know new good stuff and tricks that are available in this forum.

I am still a novice in electronics, but I am enjoying joining this place where I can get a lot of valuable technical information and share it with those amazing people!
