Hey there folks. You can see my name and I'm obviously new here. I'm a DIY guy and we live in an electrified world so I'm here to get information. I'm currently 45 years old and have spent most of my life in the trenches of underground pipe. Water and sewer to be specific. I've always dabbled with computers as they've been introduced to life. Obviously haven't kept up with the progression of our technology but I try. I am here. Biggest reason I landed here is from watching YouTube videos on soldering and general board repair. A guy from "Learn electronics Repair" has a boardview schematics video and says he gets a lot of information here. I'm not sure his name, I think he's Scottish and says "yeah" a lot. Good man . Great stuff. Thanks in advance for helping me learn.

Hi All
Great forum!
I've been messing with electronics since I was a kid in short trousers lol. I got a few good zaps from b/w CRT's and wireless sets. My first job was auto-electrician , but didn't like getting dirty so got to learn about computers starting with a sinclair Z801 , then a discarded 386 which I upgraded with parts from other trash lol, then built my first new PC a pentium 133!. then got a a job servicing juke boxes and fruit machines then document scanners. Now my interests are classic cars and fixing just about everything lol.
Now in my 60's and my eyes are strained...

Hello Everyone,
1 am Dad from Melbourne, Austral1a.
Am us1ng 2014 Razer Blade Pro that has keyboard 1ssues.
Bet you can't guess wh1ch key doesnt work...
(plugs 1n USB keyboard)
Started computing in the 80's first on the old audio tape Amstrad. (Ghosts N Goblins would take 40 mins to load - 40 mins of screeching)
Have this old Razer i7, 860m 2gb, have managed to get it to run.
-Just got an Acer Predator Helios 300 i7, 1050ti 4gb that I gave to an amateur repairist, not powering on.
He brought it back to me having just found a blown mosfet that apparently was always there. Said it disintegrated' while he was cleaning it with isopropyl.
I had gone over the entire board with magnification looking for blown parts at least 3 times. Might have missed it.
Came back with exploded AON7934 DFN mosfet crater that I'm attempting to clean.
Anyways, here I am, have been studying the LA-E911P board schematics and brd file.
Having a crash course into board/component repair.
Have ordered AON7934 dfn mosfet, but looks like will have to do more studying as most of pads are gone.
