                  Hi!

                  I'm 33yd old with cs degree working u530 and t60 and t480 and x1 carbon 5th gen.
I have an x1 extreme gen 1 i thought died due to motherboard overheating in my backpack 1 year ago but it powered on when I removed the internal and cmos battery then I tried to update (ik) through lenovo system update and it froze at 62% possibly trying to update the bios to current 2024 version from 2022 version bios.
Now it's back to the prior behavior which was esc caps lock f1 f4 lights flash on which indicates it should be retraining the ram. Only one of my ram slots seems to be able to boot from (this is an old issue). Anyways it never finishes this process now, but it was able to boot prior to freezing during update. I believe it was a power issue during updating bios

At this point I am thinking to replace internal battery cmos battery ram and then use some tool to uncorrupt the bios, which is a fairly new process for me

I found this forum looking for information about de caps of an abit kx7-333 I bought this month, new with box, forgot in some old stock. It came working unstable because of some bulging caps. Tks for the information I found here I was able to recap it and it´s fully working, flawless.

                                        Hey everyone!

I'm Tauheed , Since we're all just people trying to figure things out in this crazy world, I like to think of us as brothers and sisters in arms—learning, sharing, and growing together. So, in that spirit, I'm your brother here, ready to learn from you and hopefully share a little bit of what I know along the way.,
and I'm thrilled to join the BADCAPS Electronic Repair Forum —mainly because I'm hoping to learn how to fix things that aren't supposed to be broken… and break things that weren't broken yet (just kidding, I'll try not to do that). 😅

My journey into electronics started with a healthy curiosity about how things work, which has now evolved into a full-blown mission to get my hands dirty with practical repairs. I'm diving into motherboard repair, which I'm sure will involve a fair share of trial and error—hopefully more of the "error" part than "trial," but we'll see how it goes. 🤞

I've joined this forum to tap into the vast pool of wisdom and schematics available here. I know I've got a lot to learn from the pros, and I'm really excited to get into the nitty-gritty of troubleshooting, especially with components like capacitors that like to act up when we least expect them. If anyone has any tips for avoiding the occasional “oops, that wasn't supposed to happen” moment, I'm all ears.

Looking forward to being part of the community, learning from all of you, and maybe, just maybe, saving some motherboards along the way!

After all, we're all just humans here—so consider me your brother in this journey of learning and repair!
                                        Thanks for the warm welcome!
