Hi Everyone,

My name is Mateusz - Polish national based in Ireland since 2006

I started electronics journey when my very first toshiba laptop died in around 2008. Opened it up but it wouldn't turn on after Turned out there was a cold BGA chip solder. I learned soldering by modifying consoles as a hobby, built several PC's and learned microsoldering recently. I also worked with BGA chips when ps3 and xbox 360 had their rrod and ylod issues. Some time after that I went to college and got degree in computer and electronic engineering. I am working full time as a firmware developer right now and I am bit rusty on comonenent level electronics. I am interested in fixing junk to reduce the e-Waste and as a hobby for family members and friends. I also worked in my spare time with my college buddy on broken macbooks some time ago when he used to work in one of the authorised shops.

I've always liked technology since I was a little kid, my father is an IT technician, so we always had computers around our house.
I'm 26 years old, and I'm an ESL Teacher working on a technical support shop In Valdivia, Chile as a receptionist. I'm the only one here who knows English, so I was told to look for some solutions for some of the problems that our costumers present in their laptops or desktops.

Growing up, I struggled in school—not because I couldn't learn, but because I was pushed to follow paths that didn't align with my interests. Society often emphasizes schooling to mold you into someone you might not even want to become. Back then, I was just a kid exploring the world and figuring things out.

Now, I know exactly what I'm passionate about: electronics. I love understanding how they're built, fixing them, and finding ways to reuse and repurpose tech for a more sustainable planet. I'd even say it feels like my calling.
