Hi there. I'm a dude that doesn't even know Ohm's law, but like to take apart stuff and see what's inside... sometimes I fix simple stuff and sometimes I fry working stuff cause the multimeter lead slips n magic smoke emanates.

New here as well. Back about 20 years ago I was a Network Admin with a CCNA. Been out of that world for a long time but not completely adrift, most of my computers by necessity run some form of linux as i've mostly cobbled together a tech life out of inexpensive arm SBCs or used chromebooks I then modify to unlock the bootloader and put some form of lightweight linux distribution on.

Here now because I decided to actually get a more full specced used laptop only to find the computrace module active. Learned my lesson I suppose but still, gonna see if i can manage to do something about it.

Hello everyone, my name is Luigi, I am 55 years old and I am Italian. I am happy to be part of this Forum, which was suggested to me by a friend. I have been passionate about Electronics since I was little. Unfortunately it has not become my job, I do something completely different. However, this has not stopped my passion, I have continued over the years to do repairs as a Hobby, thanks also to generous Repair Technicians, who have always helped me to fill my gaps. I hope that you too will help me to always keep up with the repairs that have become increasingly difficult. Thanks to everyone for the welcome.

The process of repairing a computer motherboard is both challenging and rewarding. It starts with careful diagnosis to identify the problem. This may involve checking for physical damage, such as burnt components or cracked traces, as well as troubleshooting software issues that could be affecting the motherboard's performance.

New to the forum, stumbled across you guys whilst changing out my board on a Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen2. Info here has got me nearly sorted, so thanks to all that contributed previously.

Used to system build, more of a manager in the IT world now sadly but still dabble here and there with family stuff.

                                          Hey,

I got into the world of trying to fix broken laptops in my spare time and I have to say that this form has been a god save for resources and knowledge. Thank you to the team that created this space and hosting it, without it I don't think that I would have been able to get this far in the hobby.
