Hi all, I'm Paul. I bought a used Surface Laptop Studio 1 and boy has it given me some trouble. I got Windows onto it luckily, but it has a locked UEFI which wouldn't be a problem except the previous owner turned off secure boot.

I've run CSME 15 and pulled a bios dump so now I am trying to see if anyone can help me before I buy a used known unlocked BIOS chip off ebay and solder the thing in.

I'll make a dedicated post. I'm pretty new to all this, good to be among the crowd though. Cheers.

Hello! First of all. Sorry for my poor English.

I am an electronics repair enthusiast. My passion started with my first PC. It was a gift from my mother (RIP) many years ago, it broke and I couldn't repair it. But now I can repair many things at component level. I hope I can learn a lot from all of you.

I am not connected with technology at all. I am registering in order to learn something new and get access to the information of this forum. I am from Ukraine and I am 21 years old. Unfortunately, my English is not very good, so I often use a translator... Therefore, my interlocutor is so-so)))

Hi all, I'm new to all this bios programming/modding. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T490 that recently died after a bios update!

I've bought myself a CH341A and am currently trying to get to grips with what I need to do from this point! LOL

I'm a web app developer and have always enjoyed the challenge of modding (hacking) every device I get a hold of (mobile phones, Xbox, Nintendo Switch etc), so I'm hoping I'll be successful in getting my head around this as well. Fingers crossed 🤞 🤞

What an excellent way to get people posting! Used the site often for hobbyist level tv repairs and the like years ago. After not touching anything I didn't already know for near a decade, I'm back for a solid refresher. Than you to all who have helped me in the past and to those who will!
