Glad to be here. I find these type of online forums very valuable. I'm a retired IT executive that started a career in IT with my VIC-20 (one of the first ones ever sold). I'm glad to be back into the hands on type of work rather than the paperwork and personnel management of things. As a hobby, I collect and repair vintage computers and peripherals from a variety of brands including Commodore, Apple, Timex, Radio Shack TRS-80, Texas Instruments and Atari. On occasion, I sell the units I've repaired at a price to recoup parts costs only. My labor is free because it's my hobby and learning opportunity that I enjoy.
Hello! I am tech support for a small public library. I'm interested in honing my component-level repair skills, as it has always been somewhat hit-or-miss here.
My name is Aurelia, and I am passionate about computer repair. Although I don’t have a formal diploma in this field, I am self-taught and have been learning through hands-on experience for almost a year. I love giving a second life to computer hardware, especially PC components. Every repair is a challenge for me and an opportunity to learn more about hardware and how it works.
Hey, I'm Mat, a gearhead with a passion for cars, electronics, and amateur radio. I'm all about prepping and diving deep into tech, often with a no-bullshit approach. Ready to share some knowledge and learn from you all
Hello, I am a DIY'r new to electronics/technology repair and want to learn. I have some appliances and devices that need to be fixed which is why I am here now.
I am a Guatemalan IT enthusiast, my most epic moment was when I was flashing my Mazda radio system and got a black screen, I didn't upgrade the firmware as I was supposed to, but then I was able to flash my firmware using a second radio software.
I enjoy on repairing computers and learning new stuff.
Hello, nice to all technicians and apprentices like me, I'm going to write in English because I believe the group writes and understands more in English than in my native language, my name is Zyra, I'm a computer technician, and I'm always wanting to improve and understand repairs on boards and electronics in general, I currently work in a service focused on notebooks and PCs, I really like this area, I learn more every day, I am currently learning to read and better understand electronic diagrams, to carry out these repairs, I also work with various types of equipment, such as cell phones, TVs, video games, vape devices and electronic cigarettes. I intend to specialize in this area, focusing on board repairs, how to identify defects, replace parts, welding in general, etc. I will help everyone I can help, and I hope you can help me too. Much pleasure to all members and hugs from Brazil.
