Hello, came here to learn how to remove a BIOS password on an HP Elitebook 645 G9. I have a weird motherboard revision where the SPI ROM chip is in a socket so the chip isn't actually soldered in. Need to research my flash tool and if I need to do the voltage mod. I found a post about Lenovo laptops that was interesting https://cybercx.co.nz/blog/bypassing-bios-password/. I don't know if new members can post links, if you google "Lenovo hardware hacking" there is an article about how some Lenovo laptops store password information in a separate EEPROM chip, and shorting the EEPROM I2C data pins can bypass the password prompt. I don't think HP laptops work that way, I couldn't identify any other flash chips besides the EC ROM chip on the motherboard.
