Well I'm a newb in the electronics field I'm going to a vocational school for electrical engineering technology and finishing my last year in high school. I enjoy fixing tvs computer and other odd and ends. I love to learn how thinks work and if may attempt to make it my self like flashlights and red necked external hard drives .

Hey, I just joined the site in order to figure out a problem with my ~3 year old LG 42LD550-UB. The damn thing just won't turn on, but when it finally does (sometimes days), it works just fine. I dread every power flicker now :/

Any idea when I can start a thread ? I could really do with help as I'm a complete novice. My Acoustic Solutions LCD TV has the 'flashing Blue LED'. I've bought the repair kit of caps and a soldering iron. Now I'm stuck...

Hello everybody, my name is Stjepan a new to this site.
74 years old married have 2 children, and 4 grand children. Living in Mississauga, Ontario/Canada.
Interested to fix my TV Power Supply. Samsung Plasma PN50A650T1FXZC and or A.
So I hope I found the answer how to do it. A Service Manual would be of great help, as I'm former Electronic Technicion, out of that field for over33 Years.

Just want to introduce myself as a new member.

Age: 55 ish
I am an electrical engineer by trade working in renewable energy, currently I design & develop new electrical and electronic products.
I am self taught in electronics, embedded firmware and PC software and will have a go at anything like most Engineers.
I like tinkering with anything electronic particularly if it involves fixing something.
In my spare time I do a lot of repair work on vintage aircraft electrical systems.
So hopefully I can contribute to the forum and maybe even help someone at sometime.

How I got here: My LG 50" plasma (50PY2DR) went dark - thanks to posts from many folks here- Especially Tommy66 - debugged down to Z-sus board. Next is to get the IC modules for this board repair. Have not removes the modules off the boards yet, but want to order those right away - The IS numbers are hidden under the heat sinks - wondering if anyone know the IC module #s for the Z-sus board # 6870QZC004B - would greatly appreciate any pointers.
