Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi, I'm Ferd(inand) from Ontario Canada. I have loved electronics from a young age, grew up around cars; worked briefly as an industrial maintenance tech and motorcycle mechanic before moving into carpentry and construction. I now design and build hydronic heating systems part time and love the idea of sustainability, especially through wind, geothermal, solar Pv and thermal.
My first experiences with computers came in the form ot the Commodore Pet, Vic 20 and 64; just to date myself with saying any more....
I have been soldering and tinkering all my life, and recently decided to find some 'community' for this and other interests.
The fact that my LCD tv just experienced 'death by power surge' during a recent storm brought me here. I am looking forward to learning and participating where I can for now and the future. Cheers!

Hi All, My name is Conrad and live in Texas. I'm a system admin for a small business and one of my best hobbies is working on pc's and building my own systems.
This forum is a great idea and what I've seen so far, is a great help to all us, do it your selfers. I'm not sure how this forum works , as I'm new to this. I have purchased several caps from BadCaps in the past and I need some caps now.
How do I post a question about my situation? I'm just a new member and it states that I need to post once to have my access opened up. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it very much.

Hi guys,
I am a Medicare retiree now and still trying to repair electronics that don't seem to last. I previously was a Xerox copier repair person for 30 years and on the side, fixed various devices, tv, dvd players, vcrs, radios, computers, etc. I have repaired dvd players with bad caps and that was when I first learned about bad caps and having a Samsung lcd tv(ln52a550p3fxza), I have learned more about the manufacturing defect of bad caps. Currently trying to narrow down a vertical lines problem with my Samsung tv. Has intermittent lines and when I clean a tcon ribbon cable, it helps but does not solve the problem. My lcd panel is fine with no vertical lines until I put the back cover on(did that exercise three times) and am now running tv without the back cover with no vertical lines. Glad to meet you-all! Sorry about the length of reply.

Hi all, long time watcher, first post. Have a LG 42PG60-UD with the dreaded clicking relay problem. I'll work through some basic troubleshooting, measure the ps voltages and take some photos before posting again. Hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction.

Hello, my name is Don.
I am an IT specialist with 4 years in the trade. I am very passionate about computers and love working with them. I have my own shop and have compiled archives on almost anything concerning computers, software, drivers, processors, motherboards and the like, I am now getting more into monitor repair and am only taking online courses for that but... hopefully, in time, I will have some expertise in that area as well.
If I can be of any help to any of you, please, contact me at ttechsite@yahoo.com and I will help you in any way I possibly can. Also, I hope it is ok that I have posted my email address on here, I certainly do not want to get outside of the guidelines, nor do I want to break any of the forum rules, I simply am willing to communicate and offer what help I can to anyone who may need it.
Thanks for this forum, it will certainly be a neat place to talk shop and also a very useful tool in the trade.
