I've been around and fixing electronics since my VIC20 that I bought at Target in the 80's...I appreciate all views and have some expertise in repair of both TVs and computers and will try and keep up!

Hi,
My name is Walter from the USA. I'm long long retired from active repairing electronics. How long ago? Well I started fixing TV SHOW when they they still had vacuum tube station and color TV was still new. No computers. No Internet. No cable TV.
I found this forum searching for information why my big flat screen just died and I still like to tinker and I've found several posts about my problem.

Hi guys !
Was really interesting to read the last 10 pages of presentations, different backgrounds and a lot of specialist in their domains, could be quite a thing to do a big meeting

So, i'm from France, did IT studies but kind of quick learner and curious so, when i need something, i learn how, try and see if it works
Quite new on "applied" electronic field, still learning how to do good solders but well, we all started somewhere :p

I will be happy to contribute to general knowledge by posting a short tutorial on how to do a home made aux cable for a mini copper after 2003, fairly easy when you make it work ... but found nothing clear on internet ... and you will avoid my mistake

I will also open a post on a barely working LG 42LC55 I found on dump, give compos numbers and references on motherboard as it seems to be, sadly, too common for this TV ... thanks to Tom66 and all the others who put infos about it !

Hello my name is Bob. I am a retired electrical engineer. Lots of education but little practical experience. I have been using the forum for about a week to trouble shoot a dead Vizio TV. I can see that this forum will be very helpful in fixing other electronics.
