Re: Sharp LC-50LB261U
This is an easy fix. Replace ALL the Backlight strips with NEW strips. The hardest thing to do is removing and replacing the Screen without breaking it. But it can be done.

Re: Altec Lancing ACS41
I still have this system on my computer. It has worked quite well over the years and still sounds superb. Music is smooth and clear. Newer systems I tried don't give me that 'thump' I like to hear. Good one, budm.

Re: 47LW6500 Debug Help - Power Board or Mainboard?
These boards are difficult to get unfortunately. However, it is not working properly at the moment, so the option is to heat up the Main Chip. I never tried the baking the board method but I have read on this Forum that it works but temporary though.

Re: 47LW6500 Debug Help - Power Board or Mainboard?
I have found with the LW series LG LED TVs that the BGA chip becomes disconnected from the Main Bd. Remove the Heatsink and using a Hot air Station and heat the BGA chip for 15 mins at 350 degrees. allow it to cool on its own and refit the Heatsink and give it a try. I have successfully done this accouple times already without any call back complaints.

Re: Philips 42PFL6198k/2 sound ok, no picture
Look for a shorted SMD capacitor on the long panel board where the T-CON Bd. goes. Try disconnecting 0ne side at a time to determine which side the fault lies. With the Power OFF test each SMD cap by setting your DMM on the continuity mode.

Re: Sceptre 50" Blackscreen
Seems like bad Backlights at first reading. Measure the voltages wrt chassis GND. If the Backlights are bad you would get a +ve reading on the +ve LED wire and 0V on the -ve wire.

Re: LG 55LA6200 Back light strips
LG TVs use 6V LEDs and sometimes Aftermarket suppliers sell 3V LEDs on their strips. Your problem is the LED Strips are incorrect. Look at the original strips and get the Part No. off it. This is the ONLY solution. Turning down the Backlight setting is a good suggestion but does not work. Get the EXACT replacement strips.

Re: Polaroid TDA-03211C - Strange Spots on Screen
Most likely moisture as dick_barton suggests. Don't apply heat to the spots directly on the Screen. The best way would be to open up the Panel and take a peek. If it is moisture I would wipe it with a absorbent cloth and then with a lint free cloth.

Re: LG 50uh5500 no picture
Your TV has bad Backlights. You would need to open up the Panel and carefully remove the very fragile glass screen. Replace ALL the Backlights strips though not all would be defective but it is good practice to replace all as you would not want repeated failure to have to open up the Panel innumerable times risking breaking the fragile glass Screen. The LED Strips would be in pairs and would have a Part No. for left and right pairs. A 50 inch TV like yours may have five pairs probably with 8LEDs on one side and 7 LEDs on the other. Good Luck.

Re: campomatic tv secret service menu
I have found that if Backlights strips go bad and you have to open the Panel, then replace ALL the Backlight strips with new strips. Repairing strips by replacing just the bad LED WILL fail again as the other LEDs would have taken some strain already. If you are changing ALL the LEDs on EACH strip that is fine dick_barton is correct when he advised to go into the Menu and reduce the backlight setting. Some TVs you can do it from the User Menu and some TVs you would have to go into the Service Menu by pressing a combination of buttons to access...
