Re: Toshiba 37AV502R off/on
Hello guys. I know this thread is older but can someone link me to the right diode to purchase. I went to mouser and they had several different types. Thanks a lot.

Re: Toshiba 55ul610u blinking blue power light
I am getting the 5v standby and then the power tv goes high when I turn the set on. It seems that the tv is turning on. The cooling fan on the tcon runs. The backlight isn't turning on but I couldn't see an image on the screen with a flashlight. I'm willing to take a shot in the dark and replace a board. Any suggestions on which board is most likely the culprit? The blinking led is supposed to be a fan problem. So I'm guessing either a signal is not being sent to the main board to tell it the fan is running or the main board isn't properly...

Toshiba 55ul610u blinking blue power light
I have a toshiba 55ul610u that has only flashes the blue power light. I got a service manual but it was very brief. The service manual says that a blue flashing light means the cooling fan is not working. However, the cooling fan is working upon visual inspection. I have pulled the main board and the tcon board where the fan is located. There are no bad caps or burnt components of any kind. Any help is appreciated. I have searched the net and haven't found this problem described anywhere else....

Re: 50pg20 maldischarge
I had a similar issue with another set and it turned out to be the ysus. Thoughts?

Re: 50pg20 maldischarge
It seems that fixing one problem just reveals another. I've posted a pic of what the screen is doing....

Re: 50pg20 maldischarge
New zsus from shopjimmy fixed the problem. Thanks for all the help.

Re: 50pg20 maldischarge
I disconnected the zsus board and there were no changes to the operation of the TV. It would appear that I did indeed buy a bad part. I'll straighten that out and post results.

Re: 50pg20 maldischarge
I replaced the zsus to no avail. Also, Turns out I was wrong about the transformer. I checked the vy voltage and it appears that if I place my probes on either side of the resistor, I get the proper voltage readings. But if I place one probe to a lead and the other to chassis ground the reading is poor and fluctuates. I'm not sure if that matters or not. I consulted the service manual and the readings that I get when testing the buffer boards are off. They all seem to be lower than what they should be. I'm in the process of buying new buffers so I'll update...

Re: 50pg20 maldischarge
I found a bad transformer on the Ysus. How do I identify the specs? None of the numbers seem to come up on google.

Re: ns-pdp50hd-09 Blinking Codes?
I had one of these. I believe the logic board lights just mean that the main board is sending signals to it. My advice would be to pull the top buffer board and see if you can get the bottom half of the screen to work. If that doesn't work then reinstall the top buffer and remove the bottom. If removing either board causes change then the removed board is bad. You can test these using a multimeter.

50pg20 maldischarge
I have been working on this tv for ages and I am not having much luck. I have replaced the smps and have purchased two ysus boards. I bought both ysus boards on eBay so I'm sure they all had the same problem. All the voltages coming out of the smps are correct. The only voltage that is off is the vy voltage. It's setting at -105 and should be -190 it will stay constant for a few seconds, then flash and go back to -105. None of the capacitors look bad although I haven't checked them with my esr meter yet. It's only letting me upload one pic at a time so I will post more after I transfer them from...

Re: Lg 50pg20 secondary fuse grounded to heat sinks
I mistyped resistor. I haven't hooked it up since I replaced them. I just checked to see if the fuse was shorted. The thermal pads came apart when I removed the old transistors. You'd think the repair kit would have those with it. I guess it will be a learning experience one way or another. One of my philosophy professors once said "Sometimes knowledge makes a slow and bloody entrance".
