I purchased this receiver on Ebay for $25 with the notion that I may be able to identify the problem with the absence of sound from the L/R front audio outputs. These are kind of important. Hoping that someone can get me started in the right direction when some outputs work and others do not.
One thing I noticed was the main volume knob does not turn (not listed in the description so hoping that it may be a simple repair or new knob purchase).

Can anyone tell me if the current firmware settings in the image above are the current ones for this TV? I will update the firmware if I have to, however I need to know the aforementioned first.

I'm actually not sure if I need to do the update or not. I'll wait until I hear from you. In the meantime, can I scan for over the air channels? I hooked up an antenna, but really don't want to screw things up.

I think I may be in business. Screen is on, not vertical or horizontal bars. It could be xmas in July. I'm so thankful tw2005.
Now, is there a firmware update that I need to do? I'm so afraid to turn it on again...
If there is a new firmware, can you lead me to the instructions?

Would love a reply to this. I'm ready to go.
My only concern are the washers that fit the SC board to the panel. They are bowlshaped curved....like they were screwed too tight and not have a new shape. They are still in contact with the circ metal on the board it self.

I ended up sending the SC board to Moduslink for repair. I have a new SD and SU board.
When the repaired SC board arrives, is there anything that I need to do prior to installing all 3 boards? Anything that needs to be checked so I don't blow these boards?

I had a thread, but maybe it was lost. Why do these boards go bad. Board is TXNSC1MAUU PANASONIC SC (TNPA5175). I have new buffer boards, but not going to install since I jumped SC50 and continue to have 7 blinking light error code. I now have to bad SC boards and I'm hoping there are enough parts between the two that I can at least fabricate 1 working board. I contacted the repair company tw2002 recommended and they are only 60 miles south of where I live (bonus), however I want to troubleshoot the SC board for component that have failed. HELP with this would be awesome.

I purchased the SC jumper and isolated the SU/SD boards together following the service manual. I continue to have the 7 blinking lights which suggests that the SC board is bad. Like I mentioned before, I replaced the SC board with one from panasonic and after I installed the TV came to life only with the horizontal bars running across the screen. I turned off and reset the buffer cables. I turned on the unit and got the 7 blinking lights.
Assuming I damaged the SC board, I hoping to find out how to go about resistance...Leave a comment:

Thanks for getting back with me. I decided to troubleshoot this problem on my own for now. I ordered the SC jig just to be sure I am following your instructions correctly. While I wait, are there any tests I can run? Also, I have the original SC (recall I purchased a new one which I installed), are there tests I can run on the board while it is sitting on my workbench?
I also need to buy a new SU board. Do you recommend buying or trying to fix? Buying may be quicker, do you know a reliable place where I can buy one?'...Leave a comment:

Awesome!! Thanks, if it wasn't 2:30am here, I'd get out of bed and do some work. Very cool, that people are willing to help other people try and fix stuff. We spend to much money just dumping crap in the trash when they break.
I'll let you know my results and hopefully you can help me from that point!!!
