could be a lot of things. best bet is to replace the board...between $50-$90. its better than buying a new one

sounds like the main board. its not letting the power supply turn on. i would replace the main board. should work

i was thinking it might be the y sustain boards. they control the vertical lines. i would check the main y sustain board. fastest way is to replace y main and the inverters. like the guy above said too, i've read a lot of tom66's posts and he can set you straight.Leave a comment:

i repaired my own tv...(a magnavox).. that had that buzzing sound. i thought it was the transformer for the longest time till i tried a can of air. turn it upside down and spray the part you think it is. i found out it was a zener diode that was the problem. replaced it and the tv turned right on and worked. it was right under my transformerLeave a comment:

See if any of the inverters on the buffer are cold. They should be kind of hot. Most of the time xsus is the vertical lines and ysus are horizontal lines. In plasmas you need to replace buffers and their mains together. If you dont they can short each other outLeave a comment:

What kind of tv is this...lcd....plasma...led. plasmas have power supplys, main board, xsus main and inverters, ysus main and inverter boards, and sometimes other boards.....lcds have power, main, and t con boards....need pictures and more info to help you out....if you have sound and tv turns on, most of the time it rules out the power supply. Sounds like the main board. In lcds the video chip on the boards can make the flashing....need pics and info though to helpLeave a comment:

Start spraying one by one the diodes labled ZD followed by 3 numbers. The chirping will change when sprayed with the co2 from the aircan and will reveal the problem diodeLeave a comment:

Its the ZD906...its the chirping sound. Spray and air can upside down on it. It will change the temp of the diode and the chirping will go up and down. This tells you that the diode is the one thats bad....spray rhe others and nothing happens....good. just fixed mine today and its up and running again ....took me a year to figure it out.Leave a comment:
