Thanks Magic I REALLY appreciate your help. Turned the power supply over and saw corrosion on the solder ends of the capacitors. Is there a way you can tell me how to test circuits on the power supply?
What does the logic board lights say? I've been trying to find a service manual. Before I buy a new power supply I really want to know that it is defective before.

After replacing the caps on power supply, the tv stays at a amber stand by after going from green to amber for a total of 20 times. However, there's something else wrong with it.
Is it worth mentioning that I replaced all capacitors and after that, about 2 minutes after plugging in the tv, one of the capacitors started smoking and i smelled burned residue. I don't think I used quite good solder. Could I have messed the whole power board up? Also on the logic board, I see two lights in the center...Leave a comment:

Update: replaced all caps. the tv turns on perfectly.HOWEVER, all the screen shows is red right now. Does this mean bad buffer board? Not too good at this.Leave a comment:

When I plug my tv in, the green and amber light start flashing about 20 times (10 times for each yellow and green) and then the light goes to a solid yellow. I'm replacing bulged capacitors so hopefully that issue. Does anyone have anything additional they could tell me?Last edited by tschneeee; 12-29-2014, 10:05 AM. -

Does ANYONE Know How To Do This?
I need to hook up an intercom system up for a lady. This is the ONLY thing I cannot figure out how to do! She wants it to where you call an extension, it goes to the loudspeakers, which are hooked to a stereo receiver. She said her son hooked it up but needs me to re-hook it up. The problem is, I'm absolute shit with phones so I am taking a shot in the dark here. The last time I seen a phone that she had hooked up, there was a white/brown and a brown wire from a rj45B hooked into the rj11 plugin. From there it looked like her son somehow converted the two wires white/brown and brown into an audio... -

To be honest, I'm just getting into electronics. I'm working for a lady and I found out a problem in her quarter machine, one of her leads was off on the positive side of the switch, so I bought a new one. Turns out it was counter clockwise.. So I had no option but to solder the old switch with a new lead. Am I able to test this with a multimeter? I put my multimeter to Ohms and tried to measure continuity and see if my soldering job worked. I see people glue their base of solder to help keep the solder stable and not go anywhere so I did that. What is I surrounded the solder with hot glue, is... -

Okay. I have found the time to solder a 3.5mm jack because the old one was defective. I soldered it. I'm not sure what I was doing. I notice when the ground wire touches a red or white wire, then that perspective side does not work. So I connected both the red and white wires to touch and the ground is "grounded" from the red and white wires. My sound system is working. However, when I plug my center speaker in, it does not work. Is this because I need a sound card with dolby digital sound? Wouldn't my 3.5 mm jack plugged into my phone be able to let the center speaker go? Did I wire... -
