Re: Samsung UE46B6000VWXXC - Vertical Lines
Thanks stj.
Could this IC be the cause of the problem? Or me taking the capacitors out just blew up the IC?

Samsung UE46B6000VWXXC - Vertical Lines
Hi there guys, my samsung is giving me problems with vertical lines right in the midle of the screen, and it covers both sides. It's not the entire screen it's probably 30%, but it's like 20% one side, 10% the other side.
I've opened the panel, try to power it on to see if there was a problem with the ribbon cables on the T-com, but no result... But i noticed a "click" sound when i tuned it on on the power supply. TV takes some seconds now to turn on, and it keeps making the noise, then when on, this "click" stops, and the TV has this vertical lines. The click...

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
But when i do diode mode, i get readings on the caps... i mean, i put one probe on each side of the capacitor, and it gives me readings... And i have some that i don't get any reading or shor... Is that normal?

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
How do you guys test capacitors on the board?
I think mosfets are good. I put multimeter on diode mode, and test the capacitors. Some i get readings, but i have one or two that i don't get anything... Even changing the probes position. No reading, or short.
Can diode mode be tested to test the capacitors on the board? How do i know they are bad?
I saw a tutorial that explains how to measure the fahrenheits, but i don't know what's the ammount on each capacitor... So what's the best way to test a capacitor and...

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
Battery is dead. No way to tell since i can't charge it :/
Guys what about the mosfet? I am talking via PM with some member here on the forum, and he said, if i put the probes in drain/source and ground, and in diode mode i don't get any reading, it means the mosfet is ok...
Is that right? Becaus i was told when learning about mosfets that the oposite... i need to have readings between ground and source/drain, or mosfet is damaged...

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
I have the damaged mosfet removed. No voltage is present on pin 6

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
How do i check with the probe only the Volt on that pin?
Vin and GND for example? Or with VOUT 1 and VOUT2?
EDIT:
I removed the damaged mosfet... should i put it back in for testing?Last edited by angelicous; 07-19-2014, 03:22 PM.

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
Guys, my question is, the mosfet on my board, says b07 p03. This one you found from china says b20 pc03. Is it the same one or can it be replaced for that one?

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
I think you read it wrong dell
Asus k73SV. There is no 5 in there.
Yes i have the RT8206 chip in here, but i think my probes are a litle big for this chip... I could short the pins

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
So it doesn't matter the letters? The only thing important is the P03, right?

No that's a B20p03...
Mine was a B07P03. I can't find it on ebay or aliexpress :/

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
Yes i can. I removed it and confirmed that i don't have readings between the source and the drain pins. Any readings what so ever.
The mosfet has a kind of H logo (it could be an M) and on the side it has this printed:
B07
P03
CDB0623
This is what i understand but the letters are very small

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
Ok so i've read some forums about identical problems, and a guy told me to replace the mosfet, and check the fuses. But now i have a doubt now...
Ok, one i've signed is the damaged mosfet that can't drain current and i think it's damaged.
The other one i allways thought it was a fuse... I thought that the blacks where resitors, the light browns where capacitors, and this really dark brown ones where fuses. I am a newbie keep that in mind, and i am learning.
But someone told me that the...

No one?
Ok i need to solve this another way.
I have a defective mosfet, that has some writing on top, but i can't find anything about it to buy another one... How can i know what mosfet it is?

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
From what i could see in these chinese website, the schematics of the models N73JQ K73SC N73JF k73SJ K73S K73E, could work too...
Here is the website:
item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.50.tl7FXj&id=37661016801&ns=1#detail
I saw the board of the N73 and the shape is a little different but the components seem to be in the same place...
If someone could get one of those...

Okey, i know.
I've been looking for schematics on google but no luck.
They aren't available for general public right?

Re: Asus K73SV - Not powering on
Ok, let me at least show you the mosfet that i think is damaged
So that 4 pins in a box, is the side that should short with each other from what i can understand.
But on other mosfets, that 1ยบ pin on the other side, gets readings... but this one doesn't... It's like i'm not touching anything.
Could this be causing the problem alone? You can see it's very close to the DC jack
