Re: Samsung 50" Plasma HPT5044 No Picture
Does anyone know of a single source for all the FETS, transistors, etc in the Samsung driver boards.

Is that standalone Toshiba the same FET or an odd ball in the bunch?...

Re: Samsung HPT5054
Ok, thanks. And by the way, I did do a search on the MOSFET removal proceedures and got not hits. So either I fat fingered or there is no post on the subject.Last edited by skidmark; 07-23-2014, 08:30 AM.

Samsung HPT5054
I was just given a Samsung HPT5054 with the typical no picture problem.I'm 90% sure that at least most of the problem is on the main scan drive board. I've checked most of the MOSFETS on the board and several of them show a dead short. I'm waiting on a larger tip for my desoldering gun to arrive so I can get busy.
Has anyone ever replaced the MOSFETS on any of the boards in this TV. It looks like you almost have to unsolder every FET on some of the heatsinks just to replace one.
One final question, does anyone have a list of all the FET and big transistor part numbers?

I was just given a Samsung HPT5054 with same problem also. No surprise huh. Anyway I'm 90% sure that at least most of the problem is on the main scan drive board. One final question, does anyone...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Al Harper here. Been in electronics for almost 50 years. Cut my teeth in the USAF working on high end single sideband transmitters and receivers. After that went to work for GE in commercial communications. Mainly FM equipment.
Also do a lot of software developments. I've been know to program down to the metal as some say.
Acquired some fairly nice test equipment over the years and love working on PA systems, guitar amps and will even dive into a TV once in awhile.
