Re: Comments on repairing HP ZR2440w LED backlight
Hi, thanks for the reply. I had seen that post, but it seemed to deal more with capacitor issues, which I figured was unlikely to be the cause as that fault would tend to affect all the LEDs.
I saw somewhere (I think) that these panels are put together in such a way as to make replacement of the LEDs difficult and I was looking for someone who could advise about that before I strip the thing down.

Comments on repairing HP ZR2440w LED backlight
I have several of these around the place and I like them, mainly because they run cool, which I figure translates into a longer life. Anyway I have one that has developed a dark area on the screen (see pic). I assume that this is due to a failure of some LED strip in the panel.
So my question:
Assuming that a dud section of LEDs is the problem, does anyone have any experience with replacing these?...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi there. Electrical Engineer working in NZ. Graduated with ME (electrical) in late 1970's (can't remember exactly when, but hey - it was the 70's!).
I seem to have made a habit of acquiring old monitors, most of which go and are in use.
