Re: WARNING! bedbugs in laptops and their cases!
Can't say I've come across bedbugs before. Seen all manner of things inside a TV though, usually dead or dying in some way. I've seen roaches in a tower before, gross.

Re: panasonic tx-p42gt30b
I've just got one of these in myself with nearly exactly the same issue. The problem I found is the two FETS under the heatsink near the blown fuse will be short circuit. Q300 & Q301
These guys do a repair kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PANASONIC-TNPA5390-PSU-REPAIR-KIT-AFTER-TNPA5330-REPAIR-PAN-KIT-0014-/151415201597 although I'll be sourcing my own parts, I'm a little concerned where they mention about a short in the panel? Anyone know what they mean?
Thought this info might help you Re: panasonic tx-p42gt30b...

Re: HITACHI L42VK04U Won't turn on, interface still responds
Just an update but I tried pulling the ST_BY both high and low and I couldn't get the 30V and 24V lines to do anything so my guess is that the power board is the issue. Anyone care to confirm this before I order a new PCB? Cheers again

HITACHI L42VK04U Won't turn on, interface still responds
Hi guys,
I've got a hold of an HITACHI L42VK04U, the machine will not turn on at all. However the touch sensitive buttons do emit a tone each time you touch them, like they should. The machine has a Vestel 17MB65-2 mainboard and a 17PW26-5.
After testing the power supply I've found that the standby votages seem to be okay, ie the 5V and 3.3V. I also checked D881 (I believe that is the correct number, it's next to C850 and C991) and that is working fine. There's no tell tale signs of bulged capacitors either.
Could any advise me on where to go from here...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi, I'm Sathhin. I've just finished my electronics studies at college and have started my own business repairing all sorts of brown and white goods. I used to service stage effects for quite a large manufacturing company based in DK but I've moved on from there now and enjoying working for myself This seems like the place to be and I'm looking forward to contributing where I can
