Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ800B 12 blink fault
Sorry I meant to say I still have 12 blink with speakers disconnected
Tom could you please explain the lack of 15 volt between turning on and 12 blink as I was under the impression from the block diagram that the sound amp was driven by 15volts from P5 to PA5 then PA5 to PA6 though the pa board PA6 to A6 through A board and then out on A13 and in HC board on HC 13 and on to the audio out board
Just trying to get my head around the lack of 15volts (1.5 volts max is all I am seeing)
Many thanks...

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ800B 12 blink fault
Ok all
I did disconnect the speakers out from the audio board
And have checked all wiring looms for pinching none found is there anyway I can check if it is the audio amp or A board without parts?

Panasonic TH-42PZ800B 12 blink fault
Hi everyone
After a successful fix on a rare 6 blink fault I had with a working TV for two days it has now developed a 12 blink fault (SOS sound) A board fault
I have taken the rear cover off again and check the power supply 15 volt out from power supply P6 pin 1 and it rises to only 1.5 volts before shut down to 12 blink code. This was with the A12 connector to the HB audio amp board connected and then disconnected with the test performed again.
Does anyone know if the 15 volt transformer on the power supply on this TV have a thermal fuse buried under...

Re: Panisonic TH-42PZ800b six blink fault
I have checked over the board for any visual burning and none found
I have checked all the caps in circuit with a meter they seem ok I have checked the MOSFETs on the heat sinks they all seem ok with a multimeter
That's where my electronic testing skills end
Any specific places on the board that anyone thinks might cause my problem
Right now I am thinking take the risk and buy the boards that sordids has
I just surprised that the loud pop does not show black or...

Re: Panisonic TH-42PZ800b six blink fault
Hi tom
Have removed the board and will check it out this evening after family time
Is it possible that the loud pop herd just before the 6 blink code could be a fuse on the powersupply (P) board that would have been taken out by the fault on the SC board?
Will report back later.
Thanks
Paniman

Re: Panisonic TH-42PZ800b six blink fault
Hi Alastair and Tom
Yes I know the photos are poor, I have taken some better ones but my p.c has died so I am unable to upload from DSLR. Unless it's the iPad camera (Hence the poor photos)
I will get some photos posted via a photo bucket link once I have sorted the PC (tomorrow hopefully)
What I can say is they are no obvious faults that I can see ie swollen caps or burning on the boards (of cause we all know that a non swollen cap does not mean there good) dame these electrolytic caps!!!...

Panisonic TH-42PZ800b six blink fault
Hi everyone
Please can someone help I have a Panasonic TH-42PZ800B that was given to me as part of a house clearance. I was given to understand that the set had not been used for some time and was stored in a garage covered up
The first thing I did was clean out the back of the set removing all dust where possible without removal of boards or cables.
I then test the set with no AV inputs it worked! the set did not come with remote or brackets but did come with base,I then. Found some bracket and a genuine remote.
The TV has been stored...
