Hi
I am trying to get this DAB/FM portable working, at the moment its totally dead.
Power is getting into what looks like a voltage regulator circuit that comprises of what seems to be a transistor (marked 358) and a 5 pin IC (marked L1A[P]) both SMD but no voltage appears on the output which is what seems to drive the remainder of the IC's on the board.
I found a circuit for another model again from Sangean but it wasn't quite the same and gives no clues the parts used here.
Is there any reference list for components based on their markings...

Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 led flashing 13 times
Hi
I understand from reading other forums that this could be down to a faulty CCFL tube.
Is it possible to purchase replacement tubes?

Wharfdale 32" TV dead but fuse ok (Vestel PSU)
Hi
Given a dead one of these to play with and it has a Vestel 17pw15-9 PSU in it. With all the connections unplugged I could see 24v, which fades away to nothing when I plug back in the cable to the main board.
I can see there is a repair kit that covers stuck in standby, but I wanted to be a little more sure of the fault before ordering.
The 5v reg tests good, even with 120ohm resistor as the load. The two main culprit capacitors read as 15nf or thereabouts.
Checked the electroytic caps with the Peak and nothing with a high ESR....

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi All
Iam an amateur electronic repairer who loves to learn. Iam currently repairing everything from a 1950s valve (tube) radio right upto modern DAB units and learning lots as I go. Next up is a 40" TV. Right now there is a big push to repair houseehold electronic items all for free at community events to stop them ending up in landfill, so its a very exciting time.
All the best
Mike
